Nutrition Therapy for eating disorders is specialized care involving a nutrition assessment to determine your needs, goals, and the most effective treatment strategies and support resources. Collaboration with your physician and/or therapist, if you choose, can be provided to coordinate your recovery process.

Available to residents of the state Iowa and other states as dietetic licensure laws allow. Please contact us for specific information for your state or location.

Nutrition Assessment and Consult
(60–90 minutes)

An initial session will include a full nutrition assessment to review your health history, explore your relationship with food, assess your nutritional needs and discuss your hopes and goals for nutrition therapy. Talking about ourselves and about eating disorders isn’t always easy and that’s completely understandable. A questionnaire will be emailed to you to complete in advance if you wish. This may help start our discussion and can allow us to use the time in the session to better meet your needs, answer your questions and create an action plan for your recovery.

Follow Up Sessions
(30 minutes)

Follow up sessions are planned for continued work on your nutrition goals. Specifics of the goals and nutrition education are unique to you and your needs, but we will always start by celebrating your successes and addressing challenges along the way. We will adjust your plan as necessary and outline strategies for moving forward.

Everything is difficult, until it’s done.

Support and assistance between sessions can be an important tool in recovery.

The following services are also available:

Video or Phone Check-In Between Sessions
(15 minutes)

Check-ins are shorter conversations for support available to address any issues or concerns that may come up between sessions.

Emailing, Texting and Meal Coaching

Offered as individual services or in a variety of combinations and packages to provide real-time support when needed.

Fees for nutrition therapy and coaching sessions are due at the time of service. We do not file insurance claims (this allows us to keep our fees lower), and are considered out of network with all insurance companies. We can provide you with a detailed superbill (medical receipt) upon request after each session, which you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

*Schedule a free 20 minute phone call to discuss how we might work together.
